Sara Janssen in California, Unschooling, aquarium, monteray bay, pismo beach, rincon parkway, ventura

We slowly made our way down the central coast of California...from San Francisco to the Los Angeles area. One of our first stops was near Monteray Bay. We decided to check out their rather famous aquarium there and boy are we glad we did. It was AMAZING. I don't think there are many aqariums that will top this one. We had so much fun learning about jellyfish, penguins, starfish, seahorses, and more!

Then, it was on to Pismo Beach where we relaxed for a few days and took in the ocean views. Most of the time we were there it was REALLY cold and windy, but that didn't stop us from exploring the beach and discovering shells and seaweed.

We boondocked on Rincon Parkway near Ventura. They call it a "campground", but it's basically just old Hwy 1 with parking lines drawn on it for RV's. Our door opened right to the crashing waves of the ocean...amazing! Waking up to that sound is like a dream.

While we were there, the Lende Family came to visit us.They have also just recently transitioned into a life on the road and they happened to be in Ventura at the time. We stayed with them in Eureka during the tour. It was so much fun to re-connect. Just a few weeks after this photo, Stephanie dreaded her hair too!

After our stay near the ocean, we headed inland to park the RV for the holidays Camarillo...
